Quality Standard
PYRAN is a specially developed glass-ceramic that fulfills the fire protective rating requirements. The production process may involve certain optical imperfections, such as bubbles or knots. Since these do not generally impair the transparency or the technicla performance of the glass, they do not represent cause for rejection or replacement. Failure to comply with any of the storage, handling, installation and/or care guidelines may result in a loss of warranty.
Installation and Care
PYRAN shall only be installed into listed fire rated frame and window assemblies and glazed using Pemko FG3000S90 glazing tape and calcium silicate setting blocks. Each piece of Pyran should be inspected carefully before installation and any pieces with visible edge or surface damage should be sorted out. The stop height has to be chosen according to the Pyran listing and the installation of the framed unit must comply with the frame supplier's instructions. To maintain the aesthetics it is important to keep the glass clean. A soft, clean non-abrasive cloth and mild soap, detergent or non-abrasive window cleaning solution is suitable for cleaning. After cleaning, rinse immediately with clean water and remove any excess water from the glass surface. Also, do not allow any metal or hard part of the cleaning equipment to come in contact with the glass surface.
Storage and Handling
PYRAN fire-protective glass should be separated by an appropriate material (e.g. acid-free tissue paper) and should be handled with care during transportation storage, inspection and installation. In addition, the glass should be stacked upright and separated by an appropriate material. The bottom edge myst be supported by an appropriate material along its entire length.
