| Pyran fire rated glazing material is a transparent
glass-cermaic that is virtually tint free as compared to other ceramic
glazings. Pyran Star and Crystal are non-safety rated products, offering
a thin alternative for retrofit glazing projects. Pyran Star-F and
Crystal-F have a surface applied 3M Scotchshield Ultra Film for jobs
requiring stringent safety standards. Due to the nature of manufacturing
glass-ceramics, visual distortion will be apparent and the optical
quality should not be compared to that of ordinary float glass. Both
Pyran Star and Pyran Crystal are 3/16" (5mm) thick and are
listed for use in non-impact safety rated locations such as
transoms and borrowed lites with fire rating requirements up to 90
minutes. Pyran
Star-F and Crystal-F are 3/16" (5mm) thick with a surface-applied 3M
Scotchshield Ultra Film. They are listed for use in doors, sidelites,
transoms and
borrowed lites with fire rating requirements up to 90 minutes. Pyran Star-L
is a fire-rated and impact safety rated laminated glass-ceramic with a
transparent appearance. Pyran Star-L is a 5/16" (8mm) thick glazing
material listed for use in safety rated locations such as doors,
sidelites, transoms, and windows with fire rating requirements up to

radiant heat. This product does not meet the test standards ASTM E-119,
NFPA 251 or UL 263. If your jurisdiction requires a "barrier to heat"
produdct, please contact AGC InterEdge Technologies regarding the Pyrobel
line of fire rated glazings. |
